oh I seen it, been for sale a while. I want it badly but the geographical challenge is too much with other geographically challenged cars on the horizon for me. Looks like a great deal save the paint!

He told me about this one, it sounds like a good one. It’s on the right coast, but about 1400 miles away. If it was half that I’d probably have driven it home already.

Any particular reason you like the quirky old French cars?

not really anything in particular. Sense of style, The Ride, the slight uniqueness, comfortable interiors. Kind of a lot of factors go into it

See I always figured they would be like any other old bland car from the decade. But I am hardly an expert having neither seen nor ever driven one.

It is dangerously close to me (in PDX). However, I am mostly interested in the turbo-diesel versions of the 505, so I am going to pass. Price is good, especially with the extra parts and tools! I kind of want to see if those can be parted with separately.

As far as condition, however, I have seen better in the PNW. I agree that there are a lot of desirable factors in these cars.

I have an XD3T sitting here, but there would be better shells out there to stuff them in with better paint

Yeah, I have been looking for a better wagon shell myself. My 505 TD wagon has the same paint fade as this one, but it runs so damn well, and I just use it like a truck. I do need to do a differential swap soon though...the clicking is starting to get louder.

3 or 4 speed?

It has the ZF 3 speed - it could also be the U-joint at front of torque tube, so I am prepared for that nightmare. Any tips?

good it has the 3 speed, that box was around 1000 times better than the 4 speed in reliability, but way worse for cruising RPM’s. My STi cranks at 70, but I would rather eat the gas than eat another 4HP23

Anyhow, my top tips are get a whole case of beer, and follow this

Thanks - I had seen that posted years ago on the old vectorbd Peugeot website, but then couldn’t find it. Have all the parts and made DIY gaskets, now just need the time and the beer.

Hey there - not sure the best way to ask for specific advice on this. I finally did the job replacing my u-joint and differential on the 505 estate, which took waaaay longer than I thought. Put everything back together and the clunking/clicks are all gone, but now I have a serious drone/whine on deceleration! I am thinking that the pinion preload is too loose on the diff I put in. Aaaargh! Is there any spec of what that should be? Many thanks in advance...if you see this.
